Rules, Rules, and More Rules

Nathan linked to this article first in his Friday blog post - click on Elmore Leonard's name to get to the actual article. But, I figured I'd also give you the link here.

What in the heck have I linked you to? Well, rules, rules, and more rules! Weren't you paying attention to the title of this blog post?

The rules, as far as I can tell, were provided by various authors with just a touch, if not more than a touch, of snarkiness in some - well, probably most - cases.

Last, but not least, there's a totally separate article here that has a dandy piece of advice: make your own rules!

Yes, toss away all those other rules and make your own. Woo-hoo!

S

BTW - I've got a great head start on making my own rules. How about you??

Oh, and though I've already given Nathan the credit, I'm doing it again, because without him, I wouldn't have found these links in the first place. So, make sure to check out his blog . . . here!

Hmmm, my own rules? Do they have to be about writing? Can they be that the Titans are barred from the NFL?? hehe

Awesome linkage!! Thanks, Scott - these are great. :-)

Have a good weekend.

Robyn - nope, your rules can be about absolutely anything . . . except the Titans being barred from the NFL! : )

Shannon - you're welcome. I love passing on good links.

I agree with all the rules in the article -- thanks for the link, btw. Then again, I love the adage, "Learn the rules so you'll know it when you break them." We're writers, after all. We'll break any rule as long as it's in the name of creativity!!

Great blog -- Looking forward to reading more from you!

Nicole - thanks for dropping by. I agree compeletly with your line of thinking!!!

Corra - you're welcome. I think there are just too many rules sometimes. But, on the other hand, that's more to break. Ha!
